Skiing/Boarding
The Horizon Inn is the lodging of choice if you are in Vermont for Skiing and Boarding. There are several ski areas and freestyle terrain parks that are easily accessible from Horizon Inn:
- Alpine Skiing & Boarding -
Officials announced in June that the Freestyle terrain at Mount Snow is going to get a major makeover. The resort will soon dedicate the entire Carinthia mountain to become a freestyle terrain park when it opens in winter 2008-2009 season, transforming it into a massive park system. There will be a smorgasbord of rails, jumps, and halfpipes that will nearly cover five miles of terrain. There will be a snowskate playground, hikable park, beginners’ learning park and a skate ramp that will surround the base area.
In addition, Mount Snow will be adding 150 new snow fan guns to the 100 they installed last year for a total of 250 fan guns for the 2008-2009 season. The Horizon Inn is very excited for these developments and we hope to see you on the slopes!
