Mount Snow Report

Mount Snow is open with skiing and tubing focusing on the snowmaking trails.  Those new snow making guns are on every chance they can!

Our guests continue to rave about the conditions produced in the winter at Mount Snow being the best of all the lower big mountains (better than Stratton, Okemo, and Killington!)  Come see for yourself!

VAST Report

January 12, 2012

The snowmobile trails are finally setting the snow they despretly need with 6 + inches so far today and more in the forecast tomorrow.  If that happens then the trails may open this weekend!!!

If the trails do open remember this is the first snow.  It is going to be rough out there until it gets packed in and groomed.  There still is not enough to even think about grooming yet.  We will keep you updated.

All repairs have been made to ensure another enjoyable riding season in the beautiful Green Mountains!

We will report on the official opening of the trails when it happens!

Check the Deerfield Valley Stump Jumper web site www.dvsj.com for updates.

Riding Tips:

Remember that the trails start the day in pristine condition, but traffic and riders who drive 1000+ cc sleds with trigger thumbs tear the trails apart by the afternoon...be patient with the trail conditions.... our groomers are working incredibly hard but cannot groom all trails every day!!

Please be respectful of the trails – DO NOT INTENTIONALLY SPIN YOUR TRACK especially up steep hills!!!! This is 100% cause of the bumps you all complain about!

There is a curfew on the entire VAST trail system – 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM no riding anywhere – you will be ticketed for trespassing if riding after curfew. Some trails have even earlier curfews – Our inn's curfew is 10:00 PM....Downtown trail is 9:00 PM. Know the rules where you ride!!

We can no longer ride the old Hogback ski trails up to the Fire Tower. There is a trail leading to the Hogback Gift Shop where they will be offering hot dogs, hot coffee and chocolate and other items. Please stay on designated trails in this area.

Enjoy these pictures of last season and get ready for the upcoming one!
